They weren’t just sharing it, they were selling it for human consumption. If they want to give it away, or sell it as “dog and cat milk” that’s fine.

Dairies have a TON of USDA federal regulations that they have to comply with in order to sell their product. All the way from preparing the cows udder and properly disinfecting it, to the feed, to what medications the cows might be on, to the cleanliness of the stantions and the tubing and the holding tanks, even the cleanliness of the hands of the handlers and what their jobs are….ie you can’t be the guy who brings the cows from the shitcorrals and then sit down and milk them too.

It’s a matter of public safety and bacteria in milk can make a lot of people sick. They are in place for a good reason.

It’s also one thing for a couple of neighbors who know each other to trade or sell milk between them (though, still illegal) it’s anothing to sell it to random people in a parking lot. I sure as hell wouldn’t buy it from someone I didn’t know.
