What are the chances of steroid injections for degenerative disc disease to cause weight gain?

Question by Jackie Blue: What are the chances of steroid injections for degenerative disc disease to cause weight gain?
My physician assistant said it is the oral steroids that cause this problem. He said the injections to the spine region do not cause the weight gain. I have had a couple people say they did gain weight due to the injections. Has anyone else had problems with the spinal epidural of cortisone, (steroid) causing weight gain? I am doing extensive research online to my disc disease and looking at all aspects which include those that have been through this. Thanks.
Thanks you all for the answers, they are helping me more than you know.

I had the injections for several years and they do cause weight gain and they also cause you to have a lower immunity level and I had some bladder infections so I quit taking them. I try to exercise as able to help my spine. You can benefit from Physical Therapy. Good Luck. Bye!
