Glad to see you back on the Paleo bandwagon! I also did AWFUL over the holidays, but am doing a 30 day challenge to (as best I can) eat completely paleo! So far, I am 8 days in, and had a bit if a slip up today, but there is always tomorrow! Good luck with your journey and I look forward to hearing more about it in the future! Im also thinking about doing some vlog type things that have to do with paleo, and sort of a before and after thing, but not sure! =]

@MadreRaven Haha, thanks! It really is! No other diet/lifestyle has made as much sense to me as Paleo does! You should do it, it feels amazing to eat just clean, natural things that we were intended to!

@girlwithbrush Thanks! It was so so hard to try and keep it up over Christmas, especially when our family goes crazy over it. Thats awesome, I don't know if i could do 30 days straight, thats intense, I usually give myself some freedom over the weekend to eat what I want, just so I don't go crazy haha. You should definitely do vlogs! Would be so awesome/motivational to watch someone else's!

McDonald's has a "Nutrition Calculator"of all of there sandwiches and there is a "Calorie Counter". But I have an 2 ideas that may work for you. Maybe you can buy 1 hamburger and then just smell the bag instead of eating it. Or just lick the burger but don't eat it.

Pasteurization calls for 135 degrees for 60 minutes or 165 degrees for 15 minutes
Is that what you are asking about?
If your milk came fresh from a clean source that is inspected there is no need for you to heat it.
Each state has its own laws concerning the handling and sales of raw milk

I am a former chef and have used it for cheese making and for it to be pasturized it must hit a temp of 110 d F for 3-5 minutes, so that is just above body temp, if you boil it it can split and it is not nessessary to kill the bacteria, once it has reach the desired temp for cheese we added the rennet to curdle it, for drinking a simple letting it cool and refrigerating it for a couple of hours or placing in a container and chilling it quickly with ice, it will taste creamier than regular milk as the cream layer remains.

If you *like* warm milk, it's OK. Warm it until it reaches the temperature you want to drink it at. Personally, I like milk as cold as possible, and sometimes drink it on ice.

BTW, to sell milk raw, a dairy has to have their cows tested every two weeks. If the milk is pasteurized, the cows only have to be tested every three months. And if the raw milk "keeps" for a long time, that's a sign that the dairy has excellent sanitation.

The raw milk I buy lasts for seven-eight days before it develops an off-taste, but store-bought milk tastes pretty bad on the fifth day.

You can't turn dirty milk into clean milk by pasteurizing it, but that's the theory USDA seems to be promoting.

Incidentally, one of the other customers of the farm I buy my raw milk from is the guy who inspects dairies for the state. Seems he thinks raw milk is the way to go, too.
