Staples On The Homeopathic HCG Diet

Eating while on the HCG diet is tricky. There’s just not a lot of it happening. But that’s to be expected since the homeopathic HCG diet is a very low calorie diet (VLCD). Dieters are constantly urged to drink water, but when it comes to a dieter’s favorite soda or juice…there are no exceptions. So when it comes to enjoying a favorite sweet…dieters are out of luck.

But one “freebie” many dieters quickly learn to take advantage of is herbal tea. Herb tea is the only thing (besides water) on the homeopathic HCG diet that dieters can have at any time in any amount. Many dieters claim they made it through the very low calorie diet by reaching for herb tea when they wanted to reach for food.

Many prefer to purchase their herbal tea. A brand that is recommended by many on the homeopathic HCG diet is Stash. Stash is available at many health food stores. It is also available at some grocery stores. It comes in a variety of flavors.

One thing that limits the amount of enjoyment available through herbal tea while on the homeopathic HCG diet is the lack of sugar. Sugar cannot be added to herb tea. That would break the homeopathic HCG protocol. Honey is also not allowed. Artificial sweeteners are also not allowed. Some dieters are able to adjust to the lack of sweet additives when it comes to herbal tea. Others dieters become attached to particular flavors of Stevia (an all natural sweetener that is HCG diet approved).

Other dieters discover that they can create mixtures of teas that do the trick for them. Cruising through the online forums and blogs dedicated to homeopathic HCG dieting will lead to several fabulous combinations. One such combination is:

To make Fruity Green Tea

1. Water, 1 cup. Bring it to a boil.

2. soak 5 green tea bags for 3 to 5 minutes (3 pomegranate-raspberry and 2 mangosteen or mix and match)

3. Obtain a 2 quart pitcher. Pour herbal tea mixture in and then fill to the top with water.

4. Add the juice of 2 lemons to your pitcher. If you don’t have fresh lemons you should add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of lemon juice.

5. Stevia, 4 to 5 droppers full. (Your choice of flavor. Suggested flavors include: Valencia Orange, lemon and Apricot Nectar).
