The fat just isn’t going away! WHY?

Question by Jess B.: The fat just isn’t going away! WHY?
I’m 25 (going on 26) years old. 5’7″ and about 125 lb. I’ve been battling this layer of fat over my lower abdominal area to about my knees – recently the dimply cellulite has began to show more prominently.

I’ve been a healthy and conscious eater since I was 17 years old when I began to get over a little pudginess that set in in my early teens. As an artist, I’ve never been a big mover and shaker physically and only really began general exercise when I was 21.

10 months ago I kicked up my determination and set forth to get into a consistent diet and exercise program.

I’ve been going strong for 6 months.

I guess you can call my diet “Paleo” as I don’t eat any form of refined grain carbohydrates, refined sugar or dairy products all week except for one day when I increase my calorie intake to help keep my metabolism going. I even steer away from fruit for all the sugar it contains.

I rarely consume more that 1,800 a day of lean chicken breast, raw broccoli, spinach, 5 egg whites+1 egg w/ yolk, pepper, olive oil, spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, cloves and cloves of garlic, bean sprouts, and 100% whey protein powder. I’m a machine. I eat the same things everyday. 4-6 small meals in a day. I’m never tired. Always full.

I workout on a cyclical cycle of resistance training and cardio 5 days a week. I alternate to where I only have three heavy days and two light days.

I sweat and make sure that during my high-intensity circuits that I can “feel the burn”.

I’ve kept a journal and haven’t missed a day in 5 months.

I drink 1-2 liters of water a day. I take daily vitamin supplements, calcium, magnesium, vitamin-D and omega3 complex.

My results?

I’m stronger and more flexible. But….
I’ve lost no inches anywhere, if anything I’ve gained because of the muscle.
And the worse part – the part I’ve been trying to deal with since the beginning – the cellulite on my upper legs looks worse than it did and it’s now noticeably on my butt (which it wasn’t 6 months ago).

I feel good. I’m nimble and strong but I look worse than when I stared! What is going on?!

Has anyone else experienced problems like this? Is this one of those “It gets worse before it gets better” schemes?

Is there something I should be worried about in my deeper physiology like my thyroid or lymphatic system? What am i missing about getting my metabolism to work better?

I’m getting so frustrated – help.

maybe up your fat intake
i eat a high fat low carb 1500-2000cal. diet and lose bodyfat.100g of carbs or less a day.
since my body has limited carbs it uses the fat i eat and the fat on my body for fuel.
maybe if you aren’t eating enough fat then your body is holding on to the fat because without enough fat coming in the body holds on to fat. it’s the body doing its survival mode thing. so it’s not only calorie intake that counts but also the contents of the calories.
even if you reject it intially you can just keep it in your mind for later.
if you get desperate enough maybe you’ll give it a try then.
