Losing the last 30 pounds for a tall big guy.?

Question by John Saunders: Losing the last 30 pounds for a tall big guy.?
Ok, I’m 6’4″ and weigh between 260-265 typically. My fat is well distributed because of my height, 38-40 waist. I’m active with my dog, I run ( and not just one speed; I do short and high endurance intervals, sprints, and long distance running), Cross Fit at least three times per week, and I follow the Paleo diet around 75% or better depending on what food is available to eat at any given time. I would not consider myself out of shape. I’ve gone to a place like Max Muscle and received one of those infrared scans for body fat that gives you your water level in you body in liters, total fat, healthy and reserve fat, and excess fat; as well as you body mass weight. My total fat is like 56lbs, 36 of which is excess. I’ve been busting my ass to drop it and my body just won’t let go………………………………….. What am I missing to get those last 30+ pounds off? Thanks for any advise.

Losing weight is all about numbers. If you burn more calories than you consume, you’ll lose fat. one pound is roughly 3600 calories. If you want to lose 40 pounds, that means you’ll need to burn roughly 108,000 calories more than you consume. If you burn 500 calories more a day than you consume it will take you 216 days, or about 31 weeks or about 7 months. If you burn 1,000 calories more a day than you consume it will take around 3.5 (108 days) months to lose 30 pounds.
