Question by photonman: Are there any books out there about the history of migration?
One thing that I noticed is that many history books tend to concern themselves more with events, polities and rulers than they do with more broader themes such as what the people were like, what people’s diets were like, etc. Are there any books that tend to concern with the history and origins of migrations of groups (stretching back from the cavemen to the Franks and Ostrogoths to the present day)?

Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond had some interesting information about early migration in the first part of the book, but I recommend the entire book. It was quite interesting.
