Does Wu Yi Tea Taste Bitter Like Green Tea?

Tea is one of my favorite beverages, but I cannot say this has always been true. Once upon a time, I was only into coffee or diet soda until my caffeine addiction finally caught up to me and I began experiencing uneasiness after I drank coffee or soda. One of my acquaintances recommended I replaced my usual beverages with green tea.

I looked into green tea and realized there were plenty of health benefits. The natural components of tea called phytochemicals can help prevent aging and disease by fighting off free radicals. Tea is also capable of burning fat and increasing metabolism.

Wu yi tea also has amazing health benefits, but I found green tea easily at the shopping center. So, I thought I try green tea first.

I have to say, I was disappointed. The tea did not look much like tea at all, at least not like black tea. It also had sort of a bitter, funky, grassy taste to it. Perhaps the green coloring fooled my brain. Would wu yi taste the same?

I even began flavoring the tea with sweeteners and cream. Lemon did not work either. And of course, adding all that sugar was not doing much for my once healthy drink.

I decided to try to find wu yi tea again. I could not find it at regular grocery stores, so I began my search on the internet. There are plenty of wu yi tea sources on the internet, but I wanted to make sure it was real wu yi tea and that it was not an auto-ship scam. I chose a great wu yi tea and the shopping experience went just fine.

Wu yi tea is a lot more like black tea in flavor. It is processed a bit more than green tea, so the flavor is similar to black tea, but wu yi tea maintains more of its nutrients like green tea.

Great! I had found my new beverage in wu yi tea. Age-fighting, disease preventing capabilities AND a great flavor! Oh, and it also aids in weight loss!

Wu yi tea and green tea both contain caffeine, but oddly enough, the caffeine content does not make me feely jittery or anxious. I can even drink wu yi tea later in the day and it does not affect my ability to sleep, yet it still provides energy. This may not be true for everyone, though, and the usual recommendation to avoid sleep disturbances is to avoid all caffeine past noon.

Since switching from coffee to wu yi tea, I have also begun drinking more iced tea. It is simple to brew the wu yi tea and then pour it over ice after it has been cooled a bit. I even began blending it sometimes with green tea and herbal fruit teas for a very crisp, refreshing drink that contains even more health benefits.

Some people really enjoy green tea, so give it a try if you would like. Wu yi, though, is a much more pleasing beverage.
