Question by Meow: Weight gain after hysterectomy, even if ovaries are not removed?
I have been planning to get a hysterectomy for the past few years. The type of surgery that I am planning on getting is only the removal of the uterus, and nothing else. So will I gain weight, even if my ovaries are intact?

Nothing changes after a hysterectomy unless you allow it to change (except obviously for the absence of period blood). I had mine when I was 26 and have never looked back it was the best thing that could have happened and my life has been much better for it.
A great deal of emphasis is put on this part of the anatomy however it has been my experience that I am just as much of a woman without it as I was with it, weight gain or loss is equal to the amount of food eaten and the amount of exercise taken, if you live a balanced life then you should stay the same.
