Question by KAR36: What is a healthy rate of puppy weight gain?
My puppy had his first vet appointment a little more than a week ago. He weighed 4 pounds. He went back for a second appointment a week later for shots, and he had gained a half a pound in a week.
Is there a reference online that shows “normal” or healthy puppy weight gain rates?
Or can someone share what that rate should be?
He is a small breed dog – pekingese-poodle, so that might matter too?

Height: 6 – 9 in.
Weight: 9 – 20 lb., 14 lbs if bred with a Miniature Poodle
